Fresh Finds: New Releases to Add to Your Playlist

Fie Eike – ”Fluid”

Fie Eike has captured the attention of tastemakers including The Line of Best Fit, NOTION, Earmilk, and Atwood Magazine.

Based in Copenhagen, the Norwegian-Danish composer, songwriter, and producer blends melodic and atmospheric elements with Nordic sophistication and mystery. Her latest single, “Fluid”, delves into the concept of “fluidity,” exploring how over-adapting can cause us to lose touch with our true selves in our quest for belonging.

“Fluid” creates an ethereal soundscape with underwater-themed elements and field recordings of water, mixed with electronic backdrops and emotional vocals. The song, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, reflects on the need for self-connection amid the search for love and community.

Fie Eike’s debut album, set for release in November 2024, has already received support from KODA Kultur and the Danish Musicians’ Union.

Lissy Taylor“Your Girl”

Stoke-on-Trent alt-rock artist Lissy Taylor is back with her infectious new single, “Your Girl”, set to drop on July 26th. Known for her ability to craft addictive indie-rock anthems, Lissy has cultivated a devoted fanbase and a reputation for high-energy live performances. “Your Girl” is a punchy indie-pop anthem celebrating the confidence and empowerment of being single, featuring bright guitar tones, punchy drums, and Lissy’s charismatic, smoky vocals.

“I wrote it after a breakup, thinking, ‘Yes, I could be your girl, but I can be anything,’” Lissy shares. The track reflects her theme of confidence and independence.

This summer, Lissy will perform at major UK festivals, including Truck Festival and Y Not Festival.
